Role: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Wakefield (WF2)
Salary Scale: £90 to £105 per day
Start Date: ASAP

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant looking to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with additional learning needs? This is an exciting opportunity to join our schools in Wakefield (WF2) and provide vital support that helps students grow both academically and emotionally.

At our schools in Wakefield, we are committed to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that supports the unique needs of each student. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring students are given the personalised assistance they need to succeed. Our team is collaborative, passionate, and dedicated to delivering exceptional education and care.

The Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support, helping them overcome barriers to learning. Your key responsibilities will include:

Personalised Support: Assist students in accessing the curriculum by providing tailored support suited to their individual learning needs.
Behaviour and Engagement: Help manage classroom behaviour and encourage positive participation in lessons and activities.
Emotional and Social Development: Provide a safe and supportive space for students to develop confidence, self-esteem, and emotional well-being.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to implement individual learning plans and support strategies.
Specialised Training: Prior training in Team Teach or Makaton is preferred, but not essential. Successful candidates will receive Team Teach training free of charge.

Requirements:
• Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or in a similar role supporting students with additional needs.
• Empathy, patience, and a passion for helping students achieve their full potential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with behaviour support or communication strategies such as Team Teach or Makaton is desirable.
