Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking caring Learning Support Assistants to support pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties, PMLD and complex needs in specialist schools in the South Shields area. You will assist with sensory activities, communication support and structured routines as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role runs from September, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm (or 4:30pm), term-time only and full-time, with competitive daily rates and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Experience working with pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) is advantageous.
• Experience in SEN settings and multidisciplinary teams is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with classroom learning and engage pupils in sensory activities.
• Support communication and practical activities to aid learning.
• Help pupils develop independence and daily living skills.

You’ll help children access learning through sensory activities, communication support and structured routines while working as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team. Schools in the area place a strong emphasis on communication, independence and personalised learning.

Working Pattern

• September start
• Monday-Friday
• 8:30am-3:30pm to 4:30pm
• Term-time only
• Full-time

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
