Job summary

The Hayfield School is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs, helping them access a broad and balanced curriculum and participate fully in school life.

You will work under the direction of the SENDCO, provide targeted academic, social, emotional and practical support, and collaborate with staff, parents and external agencies to promote wellbeing and positive outcomes for every student.

Qualifications

• Support students with Special Educational Needs in accessing curriculum.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN.
• Collaborate with staff and families to promote wellbeing.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Encourage independence, resilience, and positive engagement in learning.
• Support students' social, emotional, and behavioral development.
• Adapt resources and learning strategies to meet individual student needs.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with Special Educational Needs.
• Monitor student progress and contribute to reviews and support plans.
• Help create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents/carers, and external agencies where appropriate.
