Job summary

The Rushmere Park Academy is seeking a caring SEN Learning Support Assistant to work with EY and KS1 pupils, providing direct classroom support and helping pupils access activities in line with their Individual Education Plans.

We are committed to equity and education for all children within our nursery, mainstream, and specialist provisions, in a good OFSTED environment. This full-time role runs term-time + inset days, 39 weeks, 35 hours weekly, 8:30am-4:00pm.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in an educational setting.
• Friendly, energetic, and an enthusiastic team player.
• Understanding safeguarding and its implications within an educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop nurturing and professional relationships with pupils.
• Support pupils to engage in class and lunch activities.
• Work as part of the wider staff team across lunch periods.
• Support pupils with activities outlined in their Individual Education Plan.
• Show an active understanding of safeguarding issues in schools.
