Job summary

The Rushmere Park Academy in Leighton Buzzard is seeking a caring SEN Learning Support Assistant to provide direct classroom support, particularly for some SEN learners. The role covers nursery, mainstream, and specialist provision with emphasis on inclusive education and safeguarding.

Key duties include building nurturing relationships, aiding engagement in activities, and supporting IEP-based tasks, while working with a wider staff team during lunch periods.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in an educational setting.
• Friendly, energetic and enthusiastic team player.
• Able to follow instructions from class teacher and senior leaders.
• Understanding of safeguarding and its implications in schools.

Responsibilities

• Develop nurturing and professional relationships with pupils.
• Support pupils to engage in class and lunch time activities.
• Work as part of the wider staff team across the lunch period.
• Support pupils with activities outlined in their Individual Education Plan.
• Demonstrate safeguarding awareness in daily school routines.
