Job summary

Educato Limited is seeking an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN provision in Swinton. You will support children with a range of needs, including autism and non-verbal pupils, providing 1:1 and small-group help, and using communication aids to promote learning and regulation.

You will work closely with teaching staff, implementing EHCP targets and ensuring a calm, positive environment throughout the school day. DBS checks and safeguarding compliance are required.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • Experience supporting autism and non-verbal communication.
  • Patient, calm and consistent approach.
  • Understanding of sensory needs and emotional regulation.
  • Ability to work as part of a school team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support across the school day.
  • Support pupils with learning, communication, and regulation.
  • Use visual aids and PECS to aid communication.
  • Follow individual support plans and EHCP targets.
  • Create a calm, safe, supportive environment for pupils.
