Job summary

Lansdowne Primary Academy is recruiting a SEN Learning Support Assistant for Acorns, our resource base for pupils with social communication needs and Autism. You will work under the class teacher to deliver personalised planning and support emotional development in a friendly, inclusive setting.

The role requires initiative, good ICT skills and the ability to support literacy, numeracy and behavioural needs, with a strong emphasis on high achievement and positive behaviour management.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent is essential.
• Maths and English GCSE grades A-C, or equivalent.
• able to provide excellent classroom support in literacy, numeracy and behavioural needs.
• good organisation and inter-personal skills;
• good knowledge of ICT;
• be committed to high achievement from students and themselves.

Responsibilities

• Work flexibly under the direction of the class teacher to deliver personalised planning.
• Support emotional and social development of pupils with social communication needs and Autism.
• Carry out and write up observations to inform and evaluate the child’s needs.
