Job summary

Axcis Education is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for Preston to support pupils with SEN in a welcoming school environment. The role offers both full-time and part-time hours, with an immediate start for suitable candidates.

The successful candidate will work 1:1 and in small groups, adapt activities with the teacher, support IEPs and EHCPs, and help foster a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or adults with SEN preferred.
• Experience in a school environment desirable but not essential.
• Patient, proactive and resilient attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Genuine passion for working with children.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
• Work with the class teacher to adapt learning materials and activities.
• Support the implementation of EHCPs and IEPs.
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Promote pupils’ independence, confidence and engagement in learning.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and support staff.
