Job summary

The Roundhill Academy, part of Bradgate Education Partnership, is seeking a SEN Learning Support Assistant on a permanent basis. The role is 28.75 hours per week during term time plus inset (39 weeks per year), Grade 5, Pts 7 to 8, salary £16,752 to £17,018, start ASAP.

The successful candidate will support pupils with SEND under the SENDCO, provide literacy and numeracy support, engage in small group interventions and one-to-one work, and participate in Thrive training.

Qualifications

  • Must be calm, patient and approachable with learners.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive SEND team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide literacy and numeracy support to pupils with SEND.
  • Deliver small group interventions and one-to-one support under supervision of the SENDCO.
  • Plan, deliver and monitor key activities to support pupils with SEND and Thrive implementation.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities.

The role of Learning Support Assistant will work closely with young people under the support and guidance of the SENDCO and wider SEND department. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely at the Roundhill Department in our successful team. The role will involve some small group intervention as well as planning, delivering and monitoring of key activities to support young people with SEND needs. The role will also incorporate literacy and numeracy support as well as the new whole school implementation of the Thrive approach, for which you will be fully trained. We pride ourselves here at The Roundhill Academy as being nurturing as well as inspirational and we are looking for the successful applicant in this role to have a real passion for supporting young people.
