Job summary

Oakgrove School is seeking a dedicated Learning Advisor to join our support team from September 2026. You will provide tailored SEN support to secondary students, helping them access learning and thrive in a caring school environment.

Under teaching staff guidance, you will work with individuals and small groups, in classroom and online settings, assist with exam support, and help prepare learning resources while building a positive learning atmosphere.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) are required.
• Experience with young people, ideally with SEN.
• Good communication, interpersonal skills, patient and flexible.
• Commitment to inclusion and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEN in accessing the curriculum.
• Work with individuals and small groups on targeted learning programmes.
• Provide feedback on student progress and achievement.
• Assist with exam support in line with regulations.
• Support students in lessons, at break/lunch times, and during extracurricular activities.
• Prepare and maintain learning resources and a positive learning environment.
• Liaise with teaching staff and relevant professionals.
• Complete administrative and clerical tasks.
• Attend meetings, training, and professional development activities.
