Job summary

Hays Education is working with a welcoming secondary school in Barnet to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant for a September 2026 start. You will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to provide targeted support to students with a range of learning needs, helping them access lessons and participate in class activities.

The role requires a caring and proactive professional who can contribute to creating an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students in schools or educational settings.
• Ability to adapt learning activities.
• Passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning.

Responsibilities

• Support students one-to-one and in small groups.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
• Help students develop confidence, independence and resilience.
• Support pupils with SEND.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Contribute to the wider pastoral and academic support of students.
