Job summary

Oakgrove School in Milton Keynes is seeking a dedicated Learning Advisor to support secondary students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The role involves helping students access learning, tracking progress, and supporting exam preparations in a supportive school environment.

Working under teaching staff, you will support individuals and small groups both in and out of class, including occasional online sessions. Term-time plus September training days; 8:00am–4:00pm, 30-minute lunch break.

Qualifications

• GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths is required.
• Experience working with young people, preferably with SEN.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential.
• Patient, supportive and flexible approach; ability to work in a team.
• Commitment to inclusion, equality and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEN in accessing the curriculum.
• Work with individuals and small groups on targeted learning programmes.
• Provide feedback on student progress and achievement.
• Assist with exam support in line with regulations.
• Support students in lessons, breaks, and extracurricular activities.
• Prepare and maintain learning resources and a positive learning environment.
• Liaise with teaching staff and professionals.
• Complete administrative tasks and maintain records.
• Attend meetings and participate in professional development.
