Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting a Learning Mentor for a Specialist SEN Provision in High Wycombe. You will support pupils aged 7-19 with complex needs to develop communication, confidence, independence and practical life skills.

The role focuses on applying SCERTS, Intensive Interaction and other strategies, building positive relationships, supporting participation in learning, and helping pupils access everyday activities with a calm, inclusive classroom.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN in a school setting.
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils aged 7–19.
• Willingness to follow established SEN approaches (SCERTS, Intensive Interaction, Attention Autism).

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised support to pupils with complex needs.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Encourage communication and interaction to support progress.
• Support participation in learning and activities.
• Reinforce agreed strategies and interventions.
• Encourage independence and choice for learners.
• Assist with physical and practical activities as needed.
• Contribute to a calm, safe, nurturing classroom environment.
