Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (SEN or SEMH School)

Location: West Drayton, London

Contract Type: Full-Time (Term-time only)

Salary: £120 - £140 per day (D.O.E)

Join a dedicated team at an SEN or SEMH school in West Drayton as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)! As a higher level teaching assistant, you will support teachers by taking on responsibilities for various learning activities under supervision. Located conveniently with easy access to transportation, this role offers a fulfilling opportunity to contribute to students' progress and your own professional development.

Support for Pupils:

• Assess, manage, and deliver pastoral and learning support to students
• Motivate and encourage students to achieve and develop their potential
• Provide constructive feedback on progress and achievements
• Support individualized learning needs using specialist skills
• Establish positive relationships with students, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
• Collaborate with SENCO and teachers to develop and implement IEPs and behaviour plans
• Address students' social, health, and hygiene needs
• Handle minor incidents and ensure student well-being, including escorting students home if needed
• Provide reading sessions and maintain records as directed
• Support distressed students through mentoring relationships

Requirements:

• Relevant experience in educational support, including working with diverse needs
• Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships
• Ability to motivate students and maintain high expectations
• Experience working with SENCOs and implementing education plans
• Understanding of individual student needs and support strategies
• Record-keeping and reporting skills
• Patience, resilience, and compassion
