Job Title: SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant, Surrey

Salary: £27,713 - £30,250 per annum plus a £2000 joining bonus

About the School:

The school is based in Leatherhead and provides support for children aged 11-16 years with ASD and other complex or anxiety-related needs who may present with challenging behaviours. All students have a designated Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). Pupils may struggle to form healthy relationships, and can exhibit high levels of anxiety and challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities:

• Delivering interventions and supporting individualised programmes to develop emotional literacy, social skills, and resilience.
• Supporting students in managing stress, grief, anxiety, anger, and conflict.
• Promoting positive self-esteem and realistic self-concept.
• Assisting with developing social interaction and friendship skills.
• Supporting students through significant life changes, including loss and bereavement.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or equivalent (essential).
• Level 5 qualification related to the subject area (desirable).
• Higher Level Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent Level 4 qualification (or demonstrate equivalent skill level).
• ELSA/THRIVE qualification (desirable), or willingness to achieve within first 2 years.
• Mental health first aid training (desirable).
• EU work permit required.

Additional Details:
