Job summary

Linq Recruitment Specialists are assisting a specialist independent school in Nottinghamshire to recruit a dedicated SEN Secondary Science GCSE Teacher on a term-time contract until Christmas. The role focuses on delivering engaging GCSE science lessons to a small class and supporting SEMH and other needs.

You will plan, assess and adapt teaching to individual pupils, work with teaching assistants, and help foster a safe, stimulating learning environment while maintaining high safeguarding

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
• Degree-level qualification in a relevant subject.
• Experience teaching Science at GCSE in a secondary setting.
• Experience supporting SEMH and other needs.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Ability to build positive relationships and inspire learners.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging GCSE Science lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs.
• Work with teaching assistants and staff to support pupil progress.
• Promote positive behaviour and create a safe learning environment.
• Monitor, assess and report on student progress.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Support educational visits and activities outside the classroom when required.
