Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting Functional Skills Teachers for Birmingham, delivering English, Maths and ICT/Digital Skills to SEN learners aged 11-16. Roles are on a long-term basis in schools and settings, with support staff and a focus on EHCP outcomes.

Qualifications

• QTS with SEMH classroom experience.
• Proven ability to manage challenging behaviour and support emotional regulation.
• Experience teaching students aged 11-16 with SEND.
• Flexible, resilient approach and strong safeguarding commitment.
• Ability to create a nurturing classroom where every student thrives.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Functional Skills English, Maths and/or ICT/Digital Skills lessons.
• Adapt teaching to meet individual learner needs and abilities.
• Work with support staff and other professionals to support EHCP outcomes.
• Monitor progress, build confidence and promote positive learning outcomes.
• Deliver one-to-one or small-group sessions as required.
