Job summary

Supply Desk Ltd is recruiting for a Full-Time Cover Supervisor in Southampton to support learning across the school and supervise classes during teacher absence. The role involves assisting students with educational and emotional development and working closely with staff to ensure pupils are engaged and safe.

The school caters to students with additional needs including ASC and SEMH. A permanent contract may be offered for the right candidate after placement.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• Previous school or SEN experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Calm, patient, and resilient approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-prepared lessons in the teacher's absence.
• Support students with additional learning and behavioural needs.
• Maintain a calm, structured, and positive learning environment.
• Encourage student engagement and participation.
• Build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Follow individual support plans and behaviour strategies where required.
• Contribute to the safeguarding and wellbeing of all learners.
