Job summary

Hanson Recruitment Ltd seeks a Cover Supervisor with SEN experience to work in SEN settings and mainstream resource bases. You will supervise classes during teacher absences, deliver pre-set work, and provide targeted SEN support.

Role involves adapting approaches, keeping records, and assisting in developing support plans under supervision, with degree required and desirable SEND training.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN in a school or specialist setting.
• Ability to manage classroom behaviour using positive strategies.
• Patient, empathetic and calm approach with strong communication.
• Able to follow lesson plans and work independently.
• Degree is required; additional SEND training desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver learning activities, differentiating for learners.
• Supervise classes during short-term teacher absences.
• Deliver pre-set work and keep students on task.
• Provide targeted SEN support and adapt approaches as needed.
• Support progress records and assist in developing support plans.
• Prepare students for tasks and supervise practical activities.
• Conduct structured assessments and give feedback.
• Assist professionals in meeting specific needs per care plans.
