Job description

SEND Classroom Assistant

Leeds

Full Time Position - Monday to Friday, 08:30 am - 3:30 pm

Salary: £90 - £110 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

Start Date: ASAP

The School and Role

We are working closely with a school in the Leeds area that caters to a wide range of (SEN) Special Educational Needs. The pupils have varying needs such as CMLN (Complex and Multiple Learning Needs), moderate or severe learning difficulties, social, emotional, mental health needs (SEMH), or autism. Both full-time and part-time roles are available, with potential to become permanent.

Requirements

The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Ability to relate well to children and adults, and communicate effectively at all levels
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of behaviour management and restorative strategies
  • Experience with personal care
  • Driving licence is desirable
