Outcomes First Group's Benton House School in Newcastle is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Class Teacher to deliver high-quality education to students with complex needs, including SEMH and autism.

Join a supportive multi-disciplinary team and work with Learning Support Assistants, families and professionals to create personalised learning plans, monitor progress and promote wellbeing while maintaining engaging, inclusive lessons across key stages.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent required.
• Experience planning and delivering effective lessons.
• Experience with autism and/or complex behavioural needs.
• Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills.
• Ability to tailor teaching to individual learning needs.
• Excellent communication, organisation and record-keeping.
• Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Confidence using IT systems and educational technology.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons meeting individual student needs.
• Monitor, assess and report on student progress.
• Create a structured, positive classroom environment promoting wellbeing.
• Develop and review individual education, learning and behaviour plans.
• Support students to overcome barriers to learning, including challenging behaviours.
• Collaborate with families and external professionals for consistent support.
• Lead curriculum areas or subject responsibilities as agreed.
