Job summary

Polaris Education - Scunthorpe School is seeking a SEN Class Teacher to deliver high-quality lessons within the National Curriculum, addressing SEMH needs, and supporting the classroom team.

The role requires QTS, a degree-level education, and prior teaching experience. A DBS check will be completed, and the school emphasises professional development and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Have previous successful teaching experience
• Have previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an educational setting
• Have experience of using effective behaviour management techniques

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons within the National Curriculum while meeting the complex SEMH needs of all pupils
• Support the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours
• Report on pupils' progress and concerns, liaising with other school staff to ensure pupils' needs are met
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips
• Build positive relationships with pupils, encouraging interaction and positive learning outcomes

Basic Salary: £28,000 - £39,520 per annum

Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Location: Scunthorpe

Start Date: Projected Opening Date April 2027
