Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a dedicated SEN Cover Supervisor / Class Lead in Derby for a full-time, term-time only role. The position runs 8:30 am – 4:00 pm, with a daily rate of £130-£160 depending on experience. Based in the DE22 area, the role involves leading classes and supporting pupils with SEN in a specialist setting.

Experience with children or SEN is desirable; teaching status is not essential. This is a rewarding opportunity to help pupils reach their potential within a supportive school

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN is an advantage.
• A positive, patient and adaptable approach.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• A genuine passion for helping children learn and thrive.
• Qualified teacher status is not essential; relevant experience welcome.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise classes within a specialist educational setting.
• Deliver engaging lessons using provided lesson plans and resources.
• Support pupils with their learning, development and individual needs.
• Maintain a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment.
• Encourage pupil participation, confidence and independence.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the wider school team.
