Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support a mainstream primary school in Epsom. You will help develop and educate children from early years to KS2, working closely with the class teacher and staff.

You will assist with planning and delivering activities, support social and emotional development, and help observe progress while maintaining records. The role promotes safeguarding, inclusive practice and ongoing professional development.

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant, learning support assistant, SEN TA to support a mainstream primary school in Epsom. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the development and education of children from early years to KS2, working closely with the class teacher and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging and developmentally appropriate activities.
• Support the social, emotional, and cognitive development of children.
• Foster a safe and inclusive environment for all children.
• Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other staff to enhance the learning experience.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and safeguarding procedures.
• Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom organization.

Requirements:

• Relevant qualification (Drama, Dance, Psychology, English, Sports science or equivalent).
• Previous experience in a school setting or at after school clubs or youth clubs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, caring, and enthusiastic attitude.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
