Job summary

Hull City Council's IPaSS service is seeking an Assessment and Technical Officer (Grade 7) for 22.5 hours per week on a pro rata basis. The role focuses on assessing IT needs for children and young people with vision, hearing, physical and language difficulties, and delivering training in assistive technology.

The post requires delivering bespoke ICT training, liaising with schools, and providing first-line IT support.

Responsibilities

• Promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and/or vulnerable adults.
• Lead the assessment of ICT needs for children and young people, producing reports for education professionals and parents.
• Develop and deliver bespoke software and hardware training packages for schools, IPaSS staff and pupils.
• Attend EHCP meetings and provide details on technology implemented to meet needs and learning access.
• Provide first line ICT support for service staff on routine IT setup and maintenance.
• Lead on ICT learning initiatives and training across the service and align with strategic priorities.
• Evaluate new technology and advise staff on advancements for service users.
• Maintain the service asset inventory with accurate locations of equipment.
