Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking an SEN Specialist Tutor in Bromley for one-to-one tuition with secondary learners. Focus on Maths and English, with Science desirable, supporting students who may be unable to attend mainstream education.

Roles involve flexible hours (0–40 per week), typically during school hours, with placements around 10–15 hours per learner weekly. DBS and safeguarding compliance are expected. This is a rewarding outreach opportunity in a Bromley setting.

Qualifications

• Strong secondary Maths and English teaching experience.
• Experience supporting students from Year 7 to GCSE.
• Working with SEN/SEND and EHCP targets is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised tuition to learners from Year 7 through GCSE.
• Deliver Maths and English lessons confidently across the secondary curriculum.
• Assess learning needs and identify areas requiring additional support.
• Plan purposeful lessons based on individual targets and abilities.
• Modify resources and teaching methods to accommodate SEND needs.
• Support learners with GCSE preparation and examination skills where relevant.
• Build positive working relationships with students and their families.
• Encourage confidence, independence and consistent engagement.
• Monitor learning and record progress throughout the placement.
• Share appropriate feedback with parents, carers, schools and professionals.
