Job summary

Just Teachers Ltd is working with a welcoming primary school in Spalding to recruit a compassionate SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a Year 2 pupil. The role starts as soon as possible and runs until the end of the academic year.

You will provide targeted support under the pupil's EHCP, helping with emotional regulation, engagement, and access to the curriculum. A calm, resilient approach and a clear Enhanced DBS on the Update Service are essential.

Overview

justteachers is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Spalding to recruit a compassionate and experienced SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant. This is a highly rewarding role suited to someone with a strong interest in special educational needs (SEN), with the opportunity to provide targeted, specialist support to a Year 2 pupil. The role is due to start as soon as possible to support until the end of the academic year.

You will be supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis who has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The pupil requires consistent, specialist support to manage emotional dysregulation and behaviours that may include verbal and physical aggression, as well as disruption within the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivering individualised support in line with the pupil’s EHCP
  • Implementing SEN strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement
  • Supporting the pupil to access the curriculum and develop social skills
  • Using de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour strategies
  • Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
Pre-requisites
  • Have experience supporting pupils with SEN and challenging behaviour
  • Be calm, resilient, and confident in applying behaviour management strategies
  • Hold a clear Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential)
  • Be passionate about inclusive education and building strong, supportive relationships
