Job summary

Randstad is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for students with SEND in local secondary schools. This full-time, long-term role offers term-time work and immediate start, with regular pay via Randstad.

You will work closely with the SENCO and educators to implement EHCP targets and help students develop social and learning skills in a supportive environment.

Your Role as a 1:1 Specialist

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you are the bridge between the curriculum and the student's unique way of learning.

Personalised Support: Work 1:1 to implement EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) targets using sensory breaks, visual timetables, and simplified tasks.

Emotional Coaching: Assist students in developing self-regulation skills and social confidence in a mainstream or resource-base setting.

Collaborative Reporting: Work closely with the SENCO, parents, and external therapists to track progress and adjust support strategies.

Inclusion Advocacy: Ensure every student, regardless of their needs, feels safe, valued, and included in school life.
