Job summary

KPJ Group in Stockport is seeking a Semi-Skilled Technician to join a specialist engineering and manufacturing business. This hands-on role supports production with component dressing, shot peening and gauging work.

You'll work Mon-Thu 7am–3:30pm, with a half day on Fridays, and enjoy benefits such as life assurance, sick pay, Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing initiatives while keeping your area clean and safe.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar manufacturing, production or workshop role.
• Ability to work safely and responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Dressing various components in line with specification.
• Carrying out shot peening and hammer peening on components.
• Gauging components to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Supporting the production team to keep work flowing smoothly.
• Carrying out general housekeeping and labouring duties when required.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area.
• Following environmental, health and safety procedures.
• Identifying any health and safety hazards before starting work.

Job description

We’re looking for a Semi-Skilled Technician to join a specialist engineering and manufacturing business in Stockport. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with previous manufacturing, production or workshop experience, as you will be supporting production with component dressing, shot peening, hammer peening and gauging work.

What will you be doing as a Semi-Skilled Technician?

• Dressing various components in line with specification
• Carrying out shot peening and hammer peening on components
• Gauging components to ensure they meet quality standards
• Supporting the production team to keep work flowing smoothly
• Carrying out general housekeeping and labouring duties when required
• Emptying bins, brushing up, mopping and occasionally painting where needed
• Keeping your work area clean, safe and organised
• Following environmental, health and safety procedures
• Identifying any health and safety hazards before starting work

What will you need?

• Previous experience in a similar manufacturing, production or workshop role
• Ability to work safely and responsibly
• Confidence working to deadlines and adapting to changing priorities

• Stacker or FLT licence would be beneficial
