Job summary

MEL Environmental Solutions Ltd is seeking a Semi-Skilled Groundworker/Labourer to join the team in Bury Saint Edmunds (UK). The role focuses on residential oil spill projects, environmental restoration, and safety compliance on site.

You will follow safety protocols, assist senior staff, and support quality and safety management systems while occasionally working away from home.

Qualifications

• Experience in a multi-skilled construction role, including hand digging, groundwork, laying drainage, concreting, etc.
• Full UK driving licence (essential).
• Willingness to travel and work away from home during the week if required.
• Must have the right to work in the UK.
• Successful candidates will be subject to a DBS check and pre-employment Drugs and Alcohol Screening.

Responsibilities

• Carry out site works following safety protocols, including the Construction Phase Plan and Health & Safety Policy.
• Assist Senior Technician/General Builder with various tasks.
• Support ISO9001 Quality Management System and ISO45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System processes.
• Perform additional tasks as advised by Top Management.
• Work away periodically
