Job summary

Sheridan Maine London is recruiting a Semi Senior Accountant for a full-time, permanent role in London. You will manage a varied portfolio of SMEs, owner-managed businesses, partnerships and limited companies, preparing accounts and tax computations.

The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail and clear communication, with the opportunity to support client advisory work. Study support for ACA/ACCA is provided along with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• AAT qualified or actively studying towards ACA or ACCA.
• Experience in accountancy practice.
• Experience preparing accounts for a range of entities.
• Knowledge of VAT and financial reporting.
• Proficient in Xero/QuickBooks/Sage.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Preparing statutory accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients.
• Assisting with the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
• Preparing corporation tax returns and supporting schedules.
• Completing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Assisting with bookkeeping and cloud accounting assignments.
• Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and obtain information.
• Supporting senior team members with client engagements and ad hoc projects.
• Assisting with the preparation of personal tax returns where required.
• Maintaining accurate working papers and ensuring assignments are completed on time.
• Building strong client relationships through excellent service and communication.

Education

AAT qualified or ACA/ACCA in progress
