Sheridan Maine London is seeking an Audit Semi Senior to join our growing accountancy practice in Central London on a permanent, full-time basis with hybrid working. The role focuses on planning and delivering audit fieldwork, preparing statutory accounts and working closely with Audit Seniors, Managers and Partners.

Part-qualified ACA or ACCA candidates who are keen to progress will be supported with mentoring and development.

A part-qualified ACA or ACCA professional will join a growing accountancy practice, assisting Audit Seniors, Managers and Partners on assignments for clients across varied industries. The Role

As an Audit Semi Senior, you will play an integral part in delivering high-quality audit and assurance services to a varied client base. You will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility while receiving ongoing support and mentorship from experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting in the planning and execution of audit assignments for a portfolio of clients
• Conducting audit fieldwork both remotely and on client sites
• Preparing audit files and working papers in accordance with relevant standards
• Testing controls and substantive procedures across key audit areas
• Preparing statutory accounts and financial statements
• Identifying audit risks and reporting findings to senior team members
• Liaising directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
• Supporting the completion of audits within agreed deadlines and budgets
• Assisting in the training and mentoring of junior team members where appropriate

Qualifications

• Previous experience within an accountancy practice audit role
• ACA or ACCA part-qualified (or equivalent)
• Strong understanding of audit principles and financial reporting
• Experience working with owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and limited companies
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• A proactive approach with a genuine desire to develop professionally
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and audit software packages
