Job summary

Autograph Recruitment is seeking a Semi-Senior Accountant in Helston, Cornwall to strengthen a growing practice. You will work closely with the accounts team, preparing accounts for various client types, producing statutory accounts and handling VAT returns, self-assessment and compliance tasks.

The role emphasises client relationships and professional development within a supportive firm. The position offers a collaborative environment, work-life balance, and extensive study support to progress

Qualifications

• Previous experience within an accountancy practice.
• Experience preparing accounts for a range of clients.
• An understanding of VAT and statutory accounts.
• Self-assessment tax experience would be advantageous.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A proactive and client-focused approach.
• Ideally be working towards, or looking to commence, professional accountancy qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Preparing accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Producing and submitting statutory accounts.
• Preparing self-assessment tax returns.
• Reviewing and submitting VAT returns.
• Liaising with clients to resolve accounting and tax queries.
• Communicating with HMRC and other relevant parties.
• Supporting colleagues across the wider practice.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
