Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment is seeking a Semi-Senior Accountant in Cottingham, near Beverley. The role involves managing a client portfolio, reviewing year-end accounts and tax returns, and mentoring junior staff within a friendly practice of ~15 staff.

You will work between senior leadership and juniors, supporting trainee development and client relationships while providing technical input across accounts, VAT, CIS and payroll.

Qualifications

• Experience in an accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of year-end accounts, VAT, CIS, payroll, corporation tax and personal tax.
• Experience managing client relationships is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of approx. 40 clients across various industries.
• Prepare and review year-end accounts, and tax returns including VAT, CIS and payroll.
• Review work completed by junior staff and trainees for accuracy and compliance.
• Be a key point of contact for clients and handle day-to-day queries.
• Support training and development of junior team members.
