Job summary

Puro Associates in Wolverhampton is seeking an Accounts Semi-Senior to support owner-managed businesses with high-quality financial services. You will liaise with clients, manage data, and build lasting relationships while contributing to a proactive, growth-focused practice.

An ideal candidate will be AAT qualified (or ACA/ACCA studying) with practice experience and a drive to advance their accountancy career in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a UK-based accountancy practice.
• AAT qualification or ACA/ACCA study in progress.
• Proficient in common accounting software and client liaison.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end accounts and financial statements for various entities.
• Produce management accounts and VAT returns.
• Process bookkeeping entries accurately and on time.
• Engage with clients to address financial queries using Xero/QuickBooks/Sage/IRIS.
• Ensure deadlines are met while maintaining high accuracy and service.

The Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality financial services to a variety of owner-managed businesses. You’ll be working closely with clients, helping them understand and manage their financial data while also building strong, long-term relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing year-end accounts and financial statements for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
• Producing management accounts and VAT returns
• Accurately processing financial records and bookkeeping entries
• Liaising with clients to support with financial queries and administrative tasksUsing accounting software packages including Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and IRIS (experience in any is advantageous)
• Ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and client service

You

• Qualified AAT or actively studying ACA/ACCA
• Previous experience in a UK-based accountancy practice
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
