Job summary

Si Recruitment is seeking a Semi Senior Accountant in Leeds to join a growing accountancy practice. You will prepare accounts for various client types and support junior team members while ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met.

The role focuses on year-end accounts, tax returns, and MTD submissions using Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and IRIS. AAT qualification and 2–3 years’ practice experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in an accountancy practice.
• AAT qualified or equivalent accounting qualification.
• Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accounts for sole traders and limited companies.
• Reconcile P&L and balance sheets.
• Complete corporation tax returns.
• Prepare Self-Assessment tax returns.
• Handle Making Tax Digital (MTD) submissions; assist junior staff.

Semi Senior Accountant

Location: Yeadon, Leeds

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

On behalf of our client, a growing and reputable accountancy practice, we are currently recruiting for a highly organised and detail-oriented Semi Senior Accountant to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong experience in preparing final accounts and using a range of accounting software, who is looking to take the next step in their career.

The Role:

As a Semi Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting and tax services to a varied client portfolio, while also supporting junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of accounts for sole traders and limited companies
• Reconciliation of profit and loss accounts and balance sheets
• Completion of corporation tax returns
• Preparation of self-assessment tax returns
• Handling quarterly Making Tax Digital (MTD) income tax submissions
• Supporting and training junior staff
• Working with accounting software including Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and IRIS

The Ideal Candidate:

• 2-3 years' experience within an accountancy practice
• AAT qualified
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Confident using a variety of accounting software
• Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
