SI Recruitment is assisting a growing accountancy practice in recruiting a Semi Senior Accountant in the Leeds area to join a busy team. The role focuses on preparing final accounts and tax returns for a varied client portfolio, with the chance to support junior staff and progress.

The ideal candidate has extensive practice experience, is AAT qualified, and comfortable using Sage, Xero, QuickBooks and IRIS. The firm offers a competitive salary and a collaborative working environment.

Qualifications

• 23 years experience within an accountancy practice.
• AAT qualified.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Confident using a variety of accounting software.
• Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of accounts for sole traders and limited companies.
• Reconciliation of profit and loss accounts and balance sheets.
• Completion of corporation tax returns.
• Preparation of self-assessment tax returns.
• Handling quarterly Making Tax Digital (MTD) income tax submissions.
• Supporting and training junior staff.
• Working with accounting software including Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and IRIS.

Semi Senior Accountant

Location: Yeadon, Leeds

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am 5:00pm

On behalf of our client, a growing and reputable accountancy practice, we are currently recruiting for a highly organised and detail-oriented Semi Senior Accountant to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong experience in preparing final accounts and using a range of accounting software, who is looking to take the next step in their career.

The Role

As a Semi Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting and tax services to a varied client portfolio, while also supporting junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of accounts for sole traders and limited companies
• Reconciliation of profit and loss accounts and balance sheets
• Completion of corporation tax returns
• Preparation of self-assessment tax returns
• Handling quarterly Making Tax Digital (MTD) income tax submissions
• Supporting and training junior staff
