About the Role

TPF Recruitment is supporting a dynamic, technology-driven accountancy practice in Crawley seeking a Semi-Senior Accountant. This is a great opportunity to join a modern firm at an exciting growth stage and to make a significant impact as their first team hire.

The firm specializes in innovative, cloud-based financial solutions for a diverse client base, including startups and SMEs. They utilize platforms like Xero, QuickBooks, and Dext to provide efficient, insight-led accounting and advisory services. The Role and Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end accounts (FRS 102 1A and FRS 105), management accounts, and VAT returns
• Assist with corporation tax and self-assessment tax returns
• Handle bookkeeping, CIS returns, payroll, and pension submissions
• Maintain working papers and ensure accurate reconciliations
• Support clients with cloud software and digital record-keeping
• Provide advisory services such as budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Stay updated with UK accounting and tax regulations

Requirements

• Part-qualified or newly qualified ACA / ACCA / AAT
• 2–3 years of UK accountancy practice experience
• Experience preparing accounts for SMEs, freelancers, and limited companies
• Familiarity with cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Dext)
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Proactive, tech-savvy, and able to work independently
• Keen to grow with the firm and adopt modern accounting practices
