Job summary

TPF Recruitment is partnering with a well-established independent accountancy practice in Brighton, seeking an Audit & Accounts Semi Senior to join their approachable, growing team. You will work across accounts and audit with a varied portfolio from owner-managed SMEs to larger entities, under the guidance of experienced managers and partners.

Qualifications

• 18 months' experience in an accountancy practice.
• Experience across accounts and ideally some audit exposure.
• Experience preparing accounts for a range of clients.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and UK practice.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Genuine interest in progressing career within practice.
• AAT, ACA or ACCA studies would be advantageous, although candidates at different stages considered.
• £27,000 to £32,000 salary depending on experience.

Responsibilities

TPF Recruitment is currently working with a well established and highly regarded independent accountancy practice in Brighton who are looking to recruit an Audit & Accounts Semi Senior to join their friendly and growing team.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced practice accountant who is looking to continue developing their career within a supportive and personable firm, with exposure to a varied portfolio of clients and the opportunity to progress over time.

The Role

Working closely with experienced managers and partners, you will gain exposure across both accounts and audit, working with a varied range of clients from owner managed businesses and SMEs through to larger organisations and not for profit entities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing accounts for a variety of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Assisting with audit assignments from planning through to completion
• Preparing corporation tax computations and returns
• Assisting with personal tax work where required
• Preparing VAT returns and other general accounting work
• Communicating directly with clients and developing strong working relationships
• Supporting more junior members of the team where appropriate

Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• At least 18 months' experience within an accountancy practice
