Job summary

Step Teachers is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND across Barnet and nearby areas. You will assist in delivering differentiated learning activities, support individual education plans, and help create an inclusive classroom environment.

Roles are available on flexible short-term and longer placements with weekly PAYE. The ideal candidate will have SEND experience, strong communication and safeguarding awareness, and a patient, empathetic approach.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND
• Understanding of strategies for supporting needs such as autism, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties
• Ability to build positive and nurturing relationships with pupils
• Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
• Adaptability across different classrooms and school settings
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
• Willingness to undertake relevant training and development
