Job summary

Engage Education is seeking an SEMH Teaching Assistant for a Primary School in Walthamstow. You will support children with SEMH needs in 1:1 and small groups, adapting materials and strategies to meet diverse needs.

You will assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and help implement effective behaviour management while collaborating with therapists and support staff to track progress.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting SEMH students.
• DBS check or willingness to obtain enhanced DBS prior to starting.

SEMH Teaching Assistant - Primary School in Walthamstow

Location: Walthamstow

Working Hours:08:30 am - 16:00 pm.

Salary: Depending on experience

The Role

• Work 1:1 and in small groups with students, adapting lesson materials and strategies to meet their diverse needs.
• Assist classroom teachers in delivering engaging lessons that are tailored for SEMH support.
• Implement proven behaviour management techniques and help students develop essential social skills.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to monitor progress and celebrate every achievement.
