Job summary

Ribbons & Reeves are recruiting a SEMH Teaching Assistant in Bexley. This permanent, full-time role supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs in a brand-new primary SEMH provision within a mainstream school.

The post offers 36 hours per week, term-time only, with strong leadership and specialist support to shape provision from the ground up. You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, help with emotional regulation, engagement and behaviour strategies, and

Qualifications

• Experience supporting SEMH needs in a school or similar setting.
• Desirable but not essential experience in PRUs, or SEN schools.

SEMH Teaching Assistant – Bexley

SEMH Teaching Assistant | The Role:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs within a primary setting
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, engagement, and behaviour strategiesWork closely with teachers and the wider team to deliver structured interventions
• Help create a safe, consistent and inclusive learning environment
• Contribute to pupil progress tracking and pastoral support plans

SEMH Teaching Assistant | Who We’re Looking For:

• Experience supporting children with SEMH needs in a school or similar setting
• Experience in PRUs, Alternative Provisions, or SEN schools is desirable but not essential
• A university degree is desirable but not essential
• Strong graduates or individuals with a clear interest in SEMH/education are welcome to apply
• Calm, resilient and confident when supporting challenging behaviour
• Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach
• Ambition to develop within a specialist provision
