Job summary

Long Term Futures Ltd is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for a small specialist SEMH school in Grantham (NG31). The role is long-term to permanent, paying £100-£115 per day, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm. Start date ASAP with ongoing training and development in SEMH and behaviour support.

You will deliver 1:1 and small-group support, assist with emotional regulation, and follow individual plans in a calm, structured environment with strong staff backing.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people in education, care, youth work or mentoring.
  • Ability to manage behaviour calmly and consistently.
  • Patient, resilient and adaptable approach.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to apply.
  • Applicants from sports coaching or mentoring backgrounds encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs
  • Support emotional regulation, routines and positive behaviour strategies
  • Assist learning across classroom, outdoor and practical activities
  • Build consistent, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Follow individual support plans and contribute to progress tracking
  • Encourage confidence, resilience, independence and engagement
