Job summary

Veritas Education is seeking an SEMH Teaching Assistant in the Kingston area for a September start. You will provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH, helping them access learning in a supportive environment.

The role requires a calm, patient, emotionally intelligent approach and a full UK driving licence for travel to the rural school locations. This is a full-time, term-time position with opportunities for ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEN, ASD, or ADHD.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
• Willingness to travel independently due to rural location.
• Calm, patient, and emotionally intelligent approach.
• Confidence managing pupils with challenging behaviour and emotional needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for SEMH pupils.
• Support learning in the classroom and around the school.
• Build positive relationships with students who may have faced barriers to education.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, wellbeing and behaviour strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and support staff to monitor progress.
