Job summary

Aspire People, on behalf of a primary school in Dunstable, seeks a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH needs. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm, starting ASAP.

You will provide calm, consistent support, help pupils access the curriculum, encourage positive behaviour, and work closely with teachers to create a safe inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEMH, SEN, education, care or youth work is advantageous.
• Candidates without direct SEMH experience will also be considered.
• Safeguarding responsibilities understanding is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with their academic and personal development.
• Assist children with accessing the curriculum.
• Provide classroom support and one-to-one help as required.
• Encourage positive behaviour and clear boundaries.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation.
• Help pupils develop independence and confidence.
