Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH needs at a primary school in Dunstable. You will work as part of the school's support team, assisting lessons and providing emotional and behavioural support.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday 8:30am-3:30pm, with an ASAP start. Experience in education, SEN, care or youth work is valued, and safeguarding checks are required for all applicants.

Qualifications

• Patience and resilience to support children who may find mainstream education challenging.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, teachers and support staff.
• Calm, patient and consistent approach to supporting SEMH pupils.

Responsibilities

• Support children during lessons and activities.
• Help pupils stay engaged with learning and manage routines.
• Provide one-to-one or small-group support.
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Build trusting relationships with children and support staff.
