Job summary

Academics is recruiting for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs at a specialist SEMH school in Oxford. You will work 1:1 and in small groups, helping deliver tailored learning and behaviour plans while fostering emotional regulation and wellbeing.

Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Criminology or Education, or relevant experience with children, is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Criminology or Education or relevant experience with children or vulnerable individuals.
• Demonstrated resilience and good communication skills.
• Interest in Mental Health Support and SEN.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team including therapists and psychologists.

Responsibilities

• Support students 1:1 and in small groups with tailored learning and behaviour plans.
• Encourage emotional regulation and provide consistent Mental Health Support.
• Collaborate with therapists, counsellors and psychologists to plan care.
• Promote a safe and nurturing classroom environment throughout the day.
