Job summary

Red Moor School seeks a Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 5-18 with SEMH needs. You will work 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, on a permanent, term-time basis. The role starts October 2026 and is based at Red Moor School, Lanlivery.

A caring, patient approach and ability to build relationships are essential. Salary is £25,115.99 per year. Applicants should have GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above.

Qualifications

• Have GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Bring a calm, consistent and caring approach - especially in challenging moments.
• Enjoy working with young people and believe education should flex around their needs.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with teachers and colleagues to create calm, structured, meaningful learning experiences.
• Support pupils individually and in small groups across a range of subjects and activities.
• Help implement personalised timetables, behaviour plans and therapeutic approaches.
• Build strong, trusting relationships that support pupils' social and emotional development.
• Prepare resources and activities that bring learning to life.
• Join pupils on educational visits, off-site activities and enrichment experiences.
• Keep clear, accurate records that contribute to the wider picture of each child.
• Support with pupil transport for bespoke provisions or planned off-site activities.
