Job summary

GAC Education in Warrington is seeking a SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs on a long-term supply basis. Immediate start offered with dedicated consultant support.

You will work under UK safeguarding standards, employing de-escalation techniques and reporting on pupil progress to the SENCO and class teacher. Weekly PAYE payments are provided through the agency.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS with Children's Barred List (or willingness to complete one).
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or complex behavioural needs.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small group basis.
• Utilise de-escalation techniques and encourage emotional regulation in the classroom.
• Follow the school's behaviour, safeguarding, and pastoral expectations.
• Feedback to the class teacher, SENCO, or cover lead on pupil progress and wellbeing.
