Job summary

Best In Class Ltd is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH in a Bradford school (BD17). This full‑time, long‑term role starts ASAP and offers an opportunity to contribute to a safe, supportive learning environment where every child can thrive and progress.

You will provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support, assist with emotional regulation and behaviour management, build positive relationships with pupils, and work alongside teachers to implement individual

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly SEMH.
• Good understanding of behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
• Patient, resilient and empathetic approach.
• Confidence supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Enhanced DBS required.
• Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour management and social development.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and confidence.
• Implement behaviour management strategies and follow individual support plans.
• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and access the curriculum.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
• Maintain a calm, patient and consistent approach when dealing with challenging behaviour.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
